Hi, I have had my 60D Canon for 7 years nows and the other day when I used it, it lasted 5 minutes and completely turned off.
Can anyone help me why this happend?
I have checked to see if its the battery but that is fine.
It probably won't turn on if it thinks its battery door is open. Check to make sure that the tiny switch that conveys that information isn't stuck or broken.

Was battery fully charged? Is it the original battery? Do you have a second battery to try?

Sounds like camera needs to be sent for service then.

There are two micro-switches that will cause the camera to shut down. One is on the memory card door and the other is on the battery compartment door. You'll notice a small tab on the door that has to engage the switch. If either door isn't closed the camera wont power up.
It's possible the switch isn't fully engaged.
Of course it could be something completely different.
