Will the Tamron and Tokina lenses from my EOS 1000D work on an EOS 90D?

I have an older Canon 1000D and am considering purchasing a 90d camera. I have a number of lenses for my 1000D namely 1)Tamron 18-270 f/3.5-6.3 Piezo Drive 2)Tokina ATX-Pro SD 11-16 F2.8 (IF) DX . I would like to know are the lenses compatible with the 90D as well, would anybody recommend another Canon Body? For Example the Canon EOS RS but I don’t know if my lenses would fit that either. You see, I prefer not to go spending a lot of money on new lenses if the ones I have will do.

While I can't answer this with 100% certainty on the 90D, I know every one of my old lenses (Tamron, Sigma, Rokinon, and also old film lenses) worked fine on my old 80D.  Of course the film lenses ended up being completely manual for aperture and focus, but all of the digital remained automatic.

So if nothing was changed for compatibility between the 80D and the 90D you should be fine.  Do you have a camera store in your area that sells Canon gear where you can bring in your lenses to test them out?

Any lens that worked on your old Rebel will work on a 90D as well as it did on the Rebel. Now whether those old lenses will work on a new R series is another story. They will bolt up with a proper adapter but I seriously doubt any but the basic functions will be there.

IMHO, and really not my place or decision but if I were going to buy a new R series I wouldn't consider taking these two lens along especially the Tamron.
