Safe to store lens on camera body with 2x extender on?

I usually store my lens on my camera body. Is it still safe to do with the 2x extender on? It is an R6 II, a 70-200z and a 2x extender.

I can’t say.  I store my camera with a lens on it.  But I normally remove seldom used extenders. It usually makes the combo a bit too long.  I don’t like tight squeezes.

Greetings,

Where you store your camera gear can be equally important as how.  Environmental factors should be considered, temperature, humidity, etc.

I use a dry cabinet which is temperature and humidity controlled.  It's a safe, clean space.  This is how I choose to protect my investment. I store my gear disassembled and separately but this is not necessary.  It's important to ensure your gear is clean and dry before it's stored.  This will help ensure mold and fungus do not take hold.  I clean what I use after each outing so the next time I want to shoot I can charge, grab and go.

Where you live can have a big effect on storage practices too.  I live in a semi cool, moist, coastal environment.  Be sure to remove your battery before putting the camera up for an extended period.  😉

My former stop bath stained darkroom converted to storage room has it own dehumidifier. That is the extent of precaution I take. Gear sits on shelving usually in the bag or the bag supplied by Canon. Over my retirement years and probably well over a hundred lenses none have seen any issues.
