Thanks Rick. This helps. I will likely sell my 800 F11 if I get this, since I will not really have the need for it. I really like that lens and it’s sharp - perhaps the new one will be even better with USM? I likely will keep my EF 100-400 and tc however, and see which one I use the most in the field.
Like you, I shoot handheld, but at 72 I’m prob not as steady as you are. So I have to consider camera movement at longer focal lengths. Really hoping this 200-800 will be a step up from my 100-400….. even if no L.
