Replacing all my glass - R6

Finally sold all my EF lenses and am going to start purchasing RF lenses for my R6 however need some recommendations.

I am definitely buying the RF 100mm f/2.8 Macro for portraits as well as food photography. However I’m looking for something wider as well, as sometimes when I’m indoors I don’t have enough space for a telephoto. I generally just take pictures of people, kids playing around, family, group pictures etc.

Should I just get the RF 50mm F/1.8? Any other suggestions?

For my EF lenses I used to have a 28, 40 and 85. Used the 85 the most, but I definitely did use the 28 and 40 occasionally.

Open to suggestions.

Greetings,

I am partial to zooms over primes but can appreciate what they offer.  Only you can decide how wide from a performance aspect.  Are you ok with lens changes?

Ernie's recommendation is good, you can't go wrong there.

RF 15-35 f2.8

RF 24-70  f2.8

RF 100 f2.8

RF 70-200 f4 or f2.8

The RF35 f1.8 offers macro and good low light performance.  The RF 100-400 is also a good performer.  I have some FL overlap in my RF line up, but did so knowingly.  The RF 100 is razor sharp.  The RF 100-400 is nice for travel or outings when lugging a 100-500 isn't comfortable.  I still have an EF 85mm that was great, but it saw less use after I got an EF 70-200.  I still have that too, but did replace it with RF.  Be as strategic as possible, avoiding FL overlap when you can, except for cases where a prime might have a specific use in mind.  (example RF 100 or 35).  portrait, macro or street.  Good luck.
