Hi there, I just bought this lens and it works great it’s light. I love it except when I’m in manual focus and it gets right to the perfect focus. The outline on everything turns red is that normal?

MF Peaking. See the advanced user guide page 216. It is normal if you have it enabled.

What camera are you talking about?

If you are talking about red focus points lighting up, yes they still light up to indicate focus has been achieved, even in manual focus mode. The camera will do this with any lens, by the way.

Hi there no I’m not talking about the focal point and my camera is a EOSRP. I will upload what I’m talking about in manual focus and then I switch to auto focus with the same view.

Sorry, I am not seeing what you are trying to point out in these pictures.

The first picture is in manual focus and there’s a red outline outlining everything in the photo when I focus the manual focus ring. Just wondering if that’s normal or if there’s a glitch in the lens, perhaps it’s a Brand New lens.

What camera body are you using?  What you describe sounds like “Focus Peaking”.  That means it is normal.  In a way it is similar to seeing “blinkies” when you playback images.  That means you can also disable it.
