RF 200-800 Control ring does nothing when set to Exposure Compensation

I bought an RF 200-800 lens yesterday to go with my R6 Mark II. After putting the AF/Control/MF switch on Control, I went into the camera and selected "Customize Dials" then selected "Exposure Compensation" for the control ring. While holding the shutter half way down, the control ring does nothing. I have verified that "Exposure Compensation" is set. Does anyone know why the control ring might be non functional?

Greetings,

Not home at the moment but will be shortly and I can test with my R5 C / 200-800.  By chance to you have BBF enabled?  This would remove the ability to program EC to the Control Ring with half press shutter.

Is there a button control on the camera body that can also control EC?  If so, then the control on the camera will override the lens control ring.  The camera will not permit more than one control to able to adjust the same setting.

I have found success by programming the [SET] button for EC.  I use multiple camera bodies have found using the [SET] button works on al of them.  Hold the button pressed and turn the Main Wheel.

Thank you for the reply. It turns out that the control ring won't work if "Manual" mode is selected. When I select Av or Tv, it works fine.
