Hi, I'm using an RF 16mm 2.8 lens on an R6 body. For some reason, it is only displaying manual focus in the AF/AF operation menu. My other lenses give me the autofocus option with no problems but this particular lens seems stuck on manual. Changing the Focus/Control switch on the lens makes no difference. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I am not familiar with that lens. However, it does not have an AF/MF switch, which leads me to believe that AF could or can enabled and disabled by a setting in the camera. Most people disable the setting that keeps the lens focusing continuously. How is your camera set?

Hi Waddizzle, thanks for responding. No, there's no switch on the lens and selection of focussing mode can only be done via the menu. The problem is that when I access that in the menu the only choice I'm given is manual; AF appears to have dropped from the menu. As I said, this is not the case with, for instance, my RF 35mm.

Which Menu screen are you looking at. There should an option for “Focus Mode” on the first AF Menu screen.

Got it! Focus Mode is on AF screen 2 and had manual selected. This locked AF Operation on screen 1 to manual, which was what I was looking at. Not exactly intuitive is it.? Many thanks, Waddizzle, much appreciated 👍
