I have T7i & T5i and I am considering to buy Canon RF35mm F1.8 to enhance my shooting, I am wondering if it will be compartible?

When I said specific use. I meant as in what the OP would be using it for. Now I didn't know that it had 1:1 magnification though. I know Canon had the EF-S 60mm F/2.8 Macro USM lens. I believe it has been discontinued now. There was also the EF 50mm F/2.5 Compact Macro AFD. Alongside the Life Size EF Converter that was available for 1:1 magnification. This was the longest produced EF lens. Canon only made 8 lenses with an AFD (Arc Form Drive) AF motor. 3 of which were "L" series lenses and no "L" series lenses ever used Micro Motor or the cheaper Micro Motor USM.

I have the EF 50mm compact macro from my wife's days shooting 35mm film. It got me started in macro, but I soon went to the EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM macro. Macro lenses make really good all around lenses.

As for the OP wanting a 35mm budget friendly, I think another good option for the Rebels he mentioned, given the FOV, is the EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM. This would give a 38mm FOV on his croppers. I also have this lens and have used it on the T7i and 7D mark II. Excellent optics for the price but hard to find now new. Canon has a refurb for $440 U.S., which is a bit steep for budget, but as mentioned, very good optics.

Given the requested focal length, I was suspecting that the Freddy was looking at something for street - perhaps you can confirm that?
