This is a tall order as they are two very specific use-cases.  You'd be better off with two lenses.   I'd recommend at least the 70-200mm f/2.8, but that will cost you.   A good combo would then be the 24-70mm f/2.8 and either the 70-200mm f/2.8 or f/4.

Or, another possible combo: 50mm f/1.8 and the 70-200 f/4 to keep cost down.

What about the 24-105mm F/4L IS II USM or the 24-105mm F/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens.

EF 16-35mm F/2.8L III USM, EF 24-70mm F/2.8L II USM, EF 28-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS USM, EF 50 F/1.8 STM & EF 70-200mm F/2.8L IS III USM

EOS 40D & 5D Mark IV

430EX III-RT & 600EX II-RT

I would fear that those lenses would struggle indoors in lower light situations; especially the variable aperture version.  And without details of what sports will be captured, 105mm may not provide enough reach.

I was looking budget wise. The OP mentioned that they can't spend a lot of money. The OP has said that they already have 70-200mm F/4 lens.

Oh ok sure. But im kinda looking for 24-105mm f/2.8 L IS II USM lens but they are not cheap. And to find a alternative lens that allows me to get the same results is hard to find when u don't know where to look.

Canon does not make a 24-105mm F/2.8 lens. Do you mean the 24-105mm F/4L IS II USM. Or the 24-70mm F/2.8L II USM.

I meant the f/4

That is a great lens but it is expensive. I know you said that you had a budget.

I want thank everyone who responded to my chat. I m thinking about purchasing a lens that I can take indoor family photos and outdoor sports lenses but I don't know which one can do both and not cost me a lot of money. Can someone direct me please.

There isn’t a lens that can do all of the above.  If there were, then there would only be one lens in the lineup, instead of a couple dozen different lenses.  I posted the link to the lens video series so that you can learn about the differences and use cases.
