EOS Rebel 2000 lens compatibility with newer digital cameras

I have two lenses that went on my old 35mm camera. I would like to buy a new camera but think I could get a better camera if I didn't have to buy the zoom lenses. Would these fit the newer digital cameras? BTW, they were both rarely used and are still in the boxes.

Do you know what kind of mount they are?

If they are an FD mount, you would probably need to buy an FD to whatever camera you buy adapter. (e,g, FD TO EF or FD to RF).

The lenses for the Rebel 2000 35mm camera are EF-mount autofocus lenses. They will fit and work on ALL Canon EOS cameras, film and DSLR (full frame and APS-C crop sensor), without adapters. They will work on Canon R-mount mirrorless cameras with an adapter. 

Whether they will do justice to a new camera is another story. If the lenses you have are as old as the Rebel 2000, you may want some more-modern stuff.

Yes, the 2000 is an EF mount and NewMexicoM72 won't need an adapter for those models

I have a Cannon 2000 EOS camera that I bought new and used rarely. I enjoy the analog over digital all day long. I have two lens. A 28-80 macro and a 70-300 DL macro super. I'd like a wide angle lens option. A greater zoom option. What lens will fit my camera? What accessories are available for this camera? Thank you.

See my answer to the original poster. You can use any Canon EF-mount lens ever made. NOT EF-S.

Your 28-80 is a wide-angle to short telephoto lens. 

Don't know what "DL macro super" is. That's not a canon lens designation. Canon has 70-300 lenses but they are EF-S, so you can't use them.

There are many EF-mount lenses available, Canon and from other lens makers. Look at used photo equipment dealers. I don't know that new ones for your 25-year old camera are a good investment. UsedPhotopro.com, KEH.com, MPB.com are three good used dealers.

I agree with @Normandel that all EF mount lenses are designed for full-frame cameras and can be used on modern DSLR and Mirrorless full-frame or APS-C crop sensor bodies via adapters.  While your existing Canon lenses may physically be made to fit the newer Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Cameras (MILCs), the newer sensor will likely show their flaws as older lens designs.  

For that reason, it helps us to help you if you can be as specific as possible with lens specs: for example, the 28-80 for which Canon produced 8 variants. 

When you refer to a '70-300 DL' is that a Canon brand lens or the Sigma variety?  Canon did actually produce 4 variants of the EF 70-300 IS USM lens: Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM, a MkII, an L, and a DO version.  The MkII and L versions would be very adaptable to the new MILC bodies via the Canon EF-RF adapter.

However, if the lens you refer to is an old Sigma 70-300mm 1: 4-5.6 D DL MACRO SUPER version, released in 2008, it is very likely not going to be adaptable - you would have to contact Sigma for that one.

As an aside, given your preference for film, is there a particular imperative for you to go to digital rather than purchasing a film body - there are some excellent legacy units out there on the second-hand market?
