I have an EOS film camera. I want to buy a digital EOS body. Will my old lens work/fit on the digital EOS body?

EOS film cameras use the EF lens mount, so the lens is an EF lens.
EF lenses can be used on all EOS Digital SLRs. EF lenses can also be used with an adapter on EOS M series cameras, and a different adapter to use them on EOS R series cameras.

Thank you for the information, much appreciated.

Certainly agree with Brian as regards the mount. Specifically, what lens or lenses are you hoping to use between the two?
Do you have a particular camera body in mind?

Thank you for the response. The lens I hope to use is a Canon 35-80 Ultrasonic {Auto Focus is an option}. I have not decided on which EOS body to get.

Hmmm. The EF 35-80 USM was one of a series of lower-end Full Frame units. If you are considering getting a digital camera it would work physically with a DSLR: either full-frame or crop-sensor APS-C.
However, if you are considering moving to the new R-series mirrorless cameras, which are where the future lies, then I would honestly say it will not do justice to the new bodies available. The new mirrorless units have a new RF lens mount and thus you would need to get an EF -RF adapter. The quality of the lenses has improved dramatically over the years and to make the most of the camera body I would strongly encourage you to get lenses for that platform, even if you keep your current lens - you will be amazed at the difference.
If I can suggest reading the following and considering the questions it poses, it may help you express what you need in terms of what and how you shoot, by sharing that information we can offer relevant advice to help you make your choice. Buying Cameras and Lenses

I forgot it but I have created a Lensfun lens profile for EF 35-80 USM. Send me a PM if you want it.
Lensfun is used by:
RawTherapee, ART (AnotherRawTherapee), darktable, DigiKam, Topaz Studio, Photomatix, ON1, ACDSee, easyHDR, SILKYPIX, AfterShot Pro, Exposure Software, rawproc, GIMP and Affinity Photo.

As long as you don't get EF 35-80 Power Zoom, because the zoom will not work in Live view or with mirrorless.
I am not sure but I don't think you will have lens profiles in DPP for any of the 35-80 lenses.
