I have a Canon EOS REBEL T4I that I took out of storage to use and I noticed that the firmware for the camera needed to be update. Everything went well with the update. In the menu screen of the camera it says my lens is Ver 1.0.0. My lens is a Canon ZOOM Lens EF-s 18-55mm and I am trying to find out how I can see if the lens needs an update and how to perform the update. I would appreciate any help you can provide.

Can you please post the Full Model name of the lens. Canon has released multiple EF-S 18-55mm kit lenses over the years.

the model number on the lens is CANON ZOOM LENS EF-S 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 IS II IMAGE STABILIZER MACRO 0.25N/0.8FT. That is everything printed on the len,

The firmware on this lens doesn't need to be updated. Since the lens was released prior to 2012 it can't be updated.
