Welcome. Can you post a file in Dropbox or One Drive so we can evaluate?

Are you photographing the same subject with both lenses?

It is a very slow lens and I guess you did not have enough light for what you are photographing. Also as FL goes up SS needs to go up also. As a general rule you probably need to by in the 1/500 mark. Another issue is this lens does not focus as close as the standard lens does. Lastly make sure you are using One shot and not any auto focus helpers like Ai-servo.

"... but everything is blurry ..."

A common complaint because of too slow SS.

Hi and welcome to the forum:

To be brutally honest, the EF 75-300 is arguably Canon's worst optic and is cheap for a reason.  It has mediocre optics, no image stabilization and is, as my esteemed colleague Ernie observed, slow to focus.

All that is going to put more pressure on your skill as a photographer.  So, you need to hold the camera steady - for hand-holding, conventional wisdom suggest a shutter speed at least 1.6x your focal length, but I would go for double that, if possible.

Those are only general observations.   As my other respected colleague, John, has indicated we can tell more from an image shared via a file-sharing platform - this so we can see the EXIF data recorded in the image that will tell us how you took the image.

Unfortunately that is so and I have to totally agree. However, Canon has sold 1,000's of them if not 100's of 1,000's of them and for the consumer that it is intended for, they seem quite happy. At least that was my experience when I did the  DSLR 101 classes. There were more Canon Rebels than all the other brands combined.
