Marc,
Came across this where? Can you share the context? Are you referring to the turn-around time?

Hi,
I was booking my lens in to CPS UK and it came up with all lens types for canon 400mm f2.8 - Mark I Mark 2 and this one 400mm F2.8 L SET USM II.
I never seen this before so i wrote it down for me to look up when I got back to the office.
Could not find any reference at all
Thanks,
Marc

I have no idea what you are talking about but I will guess the "SET" you saw is a corruption of "IS".

Who can be an expert on Imaginary lenses?
Here is a list of the initials that Canon puts on their lenses:
L
IS
USM
STM
DO
I
II
(I think I got them all)
Note that SET is not amoung them. I suggest you ask at the UK CPS.

Just for fun, I tried the US Canon service site:
No SET here.
