My 24-70 lens just began giving me an error code telling me that there is no communications between the lens and camera to clean the connection points on the lens. I've done this several times and it may take one picture and then go back to the same message. I have used other lens on the camera and they work just fine so I believe it is something with this lens. Any suggestions?

If it is EF it may be the flex cable.

It is an EF. If it is the flex cable can that be repaired?

Is this the original or the version II EF model. If it’s the original then it cannot be repaired by Canon anymore. The original 24-70mm had flex cable issues. It’s out of service life also what camera do you have.

It is the version II and I use it with my Canon 6D Mark II

Does this lens work correctly on a different camera. The flex cable could’ve failed if it still won’t communicate with another camera. I believe Canon still services the version II EF model. I would contact Canon to see if they do. If so get a quote first before making repairs.

I do get the same message with my 7D. I will contact Canon. Thank you so much for the help.
