why won't my pixma mg6821 recognize new ink cartridges

Check to make sure that new, genuine Canon brand ink tanks are being used with the printer.

I have a TS9120. Installed new cartridegs. New magenta is not being recognized as new. Printer insists we are putting in an old cartridge.
