Do you hear any sounds when you turn it on? Wondering if its getting any power at all.
Anyhow, according the manual found at Canon Europe (note, this forum is for help with Canon's US-based products), it has no info about a blank LCD screen.
It only offers these steps if power does not come on:
[Check1] Press ON button.
[Check 2] Make sure power plug is securely connected to printer, and then turn it back on.
[Check 3] Unplug printer, leave it for at least 2 minutes, and then plug it back in and turn in on again.
If this does not solve the problem, contact your nearest Canon service center to request a repair.
