my cannon mx882 screen and buttons do not light up, can this be fixed.

my cannon mx882 screen and buttons do not light up, so i can not see what settings are on.   Can this be fixed?    It was printing with the lights off before, now it is processing things, just not printing.   I think if the buttons and screen worked i could print again.
