I have tried searching the error in the forum and after the support team asks what operating system they are using, the user answers but there is no reply or answer from support after. Why suddenly does my Canon MX470 series printer not work when last week I had zero problems? I am running Windows 7 and the error message says "The printer is offline. Check that the printer is connected and the printer power is on". I've done those things and now I'd like a clear concise answer to help me use my printer please.

Assuming that the printer's connection to the router is good (which can be verified by printing a LAN details page), there are a few possibilities. I'll order them by likelyhood, in my own opinion (though I strongly recommend printing a LAN details page to confirm a good signal strength and valid IP address)
1. You could have Windows set to use the printer offline (R-click on the printer in Devices and Printers => See what's printing => Click on "Printer" where "File" would normally be => Uncheck "Use Printer Offline")
2. You have the printer set to the wrong port (R-click on the printer in Devices and Printers => Printer Properties => Ports tab => The port should start with the letters "CNBJ"
If the printer is connected via a USB cable ...
1. You could have Windows set to use the printer offline (R-click on the printer in Devices and Printers => See what's printing => Click on "Printer" where "File" would normally be => Uncheck "Use Printer Offline")
2. The computer hardware might not be recognizing the printer (Go to device manager and check to see if the printer is listed under "Imaging Devices"
Let us know how that works and we can go from there.
