Hello dtrink.
The ink level sensor is built into each ink cartridge. Canon genuine ink cartridges are not designed to be refilled, reused, or reset. Replace the ink with a fresh Canon genuine ink cartridge.
Be sure to keep the printer powered on when you replace the ink cartridge, as if the ink is replaced while the power is off, the printer will assume you're using the same empty ink cartridge that you just removed.
