I've had this printer for years. I have mostly used Canon ink. Every now and then, I purchase another brand. Recently, the printer is having issues recognizing cartridges, Canon or others. This morning I put a brand new, straight out of the box black Canon ink cartridge in and it won't recognize it. I've taken it out and reseated it and no change. Why is this suddenly happening? TIA

Hi tecurlin,
Please remove the ink tank and look inside of the slot where the ink tank was.
Please make sure there is nothing in the bottom of the print carriage that would prevent the contacts on the ink tank from making contact with the printer.
