HAVE A RECENT PIXMA 3620. iT HAS PERFORMED WELL UNTILL TODAY. IT SENT AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT THE BLACK CARTRIDGE SHOULD BE FINE. I TOOK THE NEW BLACK TO OFFICE DEPOT. PR5INTER EXPERT GAVE ME A NEW CANNON XL. SAME RESULT. THEN HE SOLD ME A CANNON XXL CARTRIDGE FOR $55. AGAIN SAME RESULT. I FIND NO OPTION TO SELECT GUALITY OF CARTRIDGE. AT THE TIME I GOT THE ERROR MESSAGE, I WAS TRYING TO COPY AN OPTIONS CHART FROM A PHARMA CO. DO THY HAVE AN OPTION OF CHANGING PRINT SETTINGS THAT I DON'T HAVE? DO I HAVE ANY OPTION BESIDES BUYING ANOTHER PRINTER?

Hard to tell what's going on, not helped by using all capitals. Please don't do that.

What specifically is happening when you try to print (copying is printing)?

An error message telling you the black cartridge "should be fine"?  No such thing. And there aren't quality choices. You either have the correct cartridge or you don't.

Do you have PG240 black cartridges?  The XL and XXL denote ink capacity. Either one works.

cartridge is cannon 240 xxl fine. No PG notation. Will not print from computer command, or copy. I could not find any restriction to (fine) setting. Did not realize computer was stuck on caps. Was just trying to save the printer, as it has performed well in my system.
