i9900 can it be fixed or is it junk?

Had printer for many years; great workhorse and I don't want to throw it away if I can find out the problem and DIY. Local 

printer guy will not touch it. 

When I go to print I get as far as the print button, which when pushed, does nothing. Several days before it worked fine.

Any suggestions or is the patient hopeless?

Hello.

Try printing from your computer.  When the print job fails, does an error message occur on your computer?  What exact error appears?

Are the alarm lights flashing on the printer?  If so, what pattern is displayed?
