The PIXMA iP7240 is not a model that's supported here at Canon USA, however one suggestion is that you'll want to ensure that the packing materials are completely removed from your ink tanks. Usually this is an orange tape or other material that goes over the part of the tank that is inserted into your printer.
If you've verified the packing materials are completely removed from your ink tanks, and you still have an issue, you'll want to contact Canon support in your region for help. You can reach them by clicking HERE and then select your region, and then country.
