Will the auto document feeder scanner in PIXMA printers scan sheets as small as 4x6?

Hello, I'm interested in buying the MX472 to scan 4x6 photos using the auto document feeder feature.

Does anyone know if this will work: Will it be able to scan multiple 4x6 photos in the tray, just as efficently as an A4 paper? If so, would it damage the photos in any way?

I just tried it with mine and it worked OK.
