Is there a trick for using up the small black ink tanks used in my iP7220? I'm always stuck with several cartridges of that ink, yet the large ones seem to wear out at the same rate as the three colours.
Very mysterious!
Thanks.

Hi GinaB,
The printer cannot be set to use just the small black ink tank; the small black ink tank is used in combination with the other color ink tanks to make the text and imagery on the page when certain media types or certain printing options are selected. In the event that the smaller black ink tank is not empty, but the other ink tanks are, you can replace only the empty ink tanks in the unit instead of replacing all of the ink tanks at once. Each ink color can be purchased and replaced separately, as needed.
If you are unable to find Inks for the printer locally, they can be purchased online at the Canon eStore here.
