Using MF4770n in both Windows 10 and Ubuntu 16.04 distributions. Everything was fine until something happened in Ubuntu and the printers were no longer list as installed; Windows 10 was still OK. The same thing has happened on two separate Ubuntu computers.
I reinstalled the driver from the Canon site and was able to attached and install a new printer in Ubuntu but the printer would not print a test page. When attempting to print a test page the printer would awake from "Quite Mode" and the queue in Ubuntu would show job complete but nothing more would happen at the printer other than awakening. Ubuntu displayed "waiting for printer to finish".
Any thoughts?
