Did you mean:

TS9120 full of ink; not printing right

CProulx

The printer prints things patchy and smeary, but the test print page is beautiful and perfect.  I was low on magenta, so I refilled it to be able to print my B&W document (a separate peeve of mine), and I have cleaned print heads and rollers. Any ideas why it can print the test page but not what I really need to print?

Hi CProulx,

To assist you further, could you attach a scan of the test page that you printed?

Also, can you also post an example of a patchy and smeary print?

What version of Windows are you using?
If you are using a Mac, what version of OSX is installed?

What is the paper size and type that you are printing with?

What program are you using to print your images?

This happens no matter what program I am printing from. The picture above is a PDF.  I am using regular letter-sized paper and Windows 10.

Hi CProulx,

The test page that you provided is missing the PGBK section at the top, that is the reason for the print issues that you are experiencing.  The test page should look like this:

o_main020.jpg

To resolve this issue, please make sure that the PGBK ink tank contains ink and then perform 2 deep printhead cleanings.  Please CLICK HERE for steps on how to perform a deep cleaning.

After performing those cleanings, please print another test page.

If PGBK is still missing, your PIXMA TS9120 would require service.  If your PIXMA TS9120 was purchased less than a year ago, please contact one of Canon's Technical Support Representatives via phone or chat to obtain your in warranty options.
