When I turn on my TS5120 printer, I get error code 5100. I've followed the recommendations in the manual and replaced the ink cartridges and nothing works. It won't budge. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. This is the first issue I've had with this printer.

I even cleaned the encoder strip, as recommended by the chat agent. The error comes up even without the ink cartridges in. The agent suggested a hardware problem. Is that code for 'it can not be fixed?' I bought the unit 1 year, 10 months ago.

I'm afraid the answer is to replace the printer. I have tried everything, but the error code won't go away. Next purchase for me - anything but a Canon printer!
