Setup cd ejection error

azbacks

Just ran the set-up CD for my MG6620.  Got to the end and clicked COMPLETE.  Ejected cd on my laptop and received the Canon error that "There is no CD-ROM in CD drive.  Please re-insert CD."  I restarted computer and same error poped up.

Any ideas on how to remedy.  Running Win 8.1.

I finally remembered to check the Task Manager.  The program loader for canon had hung up (or something), and I ended that task and fixed the problem.

Everything installed fine on my wife's laptop running win 7.

Thanks for responding

Hi azbacks,

As I understand that after installation of the printer installation disc, you are prompt with an error message "There is no CD-ROM in CD drive.  Please re-insert CD."

The following might be a windows installation error

Kindly advise the following below,

1) Are you able to perform a photocopy on the printer itself?

2) Connection method between printer and computer

If the CD installation failed again, you may download the softcopy from Canon website.

Here's the link for your referencen,

Hope to hear from you,

Try reinserting CD. Sometimes an installation program is looking to complete a few final cleanup steps.
