Jeesh. I had a bad Ethernet cable. It works fine. Why the cable went bad, who knows?
---------------------------------------------------------------
892 printer. It was working using the Ethernet port.
I updated the firmware in order to use Google Cloud Print.
Now, the Ethernet port will not activate, or accept a DHCP address. It simply died.
Wireless works, but I do not like using wireless.
Is there a "reset" procedure? Is this a known issue with this firmware? I cannot reload the firmware as it says "the firmware is already updated". Clearly a bit got flipped. How do I fix this?
Very frustrating.
thanks

Hello Tiffany.
There is no error message manifesting on any of my computers. I am not using a computer to configure or modify the printer configuration.
There are no error messages on the printer. It simply will not activate the wired Ethernet port anymore.
From the front panel of the printer, in the settings, the previously functional Ethernet port remains "Inactivated". Nor will it accept a DHCP address assignment. All of the settings remain blank. I have configured this previosuly multiple times, without issue. Something broke post update.
I have cleared all LAN settings, disabled, re-enabled, etc.
Prior to the firmware update the Ethernet port worked without issue. Prior to the firmware update it took perhaps three minutes to set the printer up to use Ethernet using the printer's front panel.
All configuration has taken place from the panel of the printer.
The firmware was updated using a MacBook Pro running OS-X 10.9.1, a USB cable connected to the printer, and all instructions were followed per the .pdf files associated with the update.

This is a printer issue that manifested itself after the firmware update to 3.020.
Is this is wrong forum? Is there a direct forum to engineering. I am convinced this is a software issue.
thanks
