Reduce Picture Size from Scanner

Hi, today I purchased a Canon Pixma MG2120 to use as a scanner.  The scanned pictures are huge and too big to use on eBay.  How do I reduce the size of the pictures?

I wrote this way back when but it should help explain one of the easiest ways to do it that I know of.
