Have been very happy with this printer, but suddenly having problems I can't fix - faint printing and missing parts (mid-section) of lines. Have done nozzle test, cleaned roller, changed low ink cartridge. What now???

Hi! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that your prints are coming out faded with missing sections and you have already tried some of the maintenance options for your PIXMA TR8620 (Nozzle Check and Roller Cleaning).
The Roller Cleaning option will not help with faded printing or missing sections. This maintenance option is something you can do when you are experiencing paper jams or when the paper is not feeding.
To fix this issue, we would recommend the Cleaning and Deep Cleaning options. For those instructions, please use the following links:
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/TR8600%20series/EN/UG/ug-135.html
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/TR8600%20series/EN/UG/ug-136.html
We do recommend that you start with a Cleaning. Then, you can print a nozzle check pattern to see if it has improved. The following links will help you with printing that pattern and checking the result.
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/TR8600%20series/EN/UG/ug-133.html
https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/TR8600%20series/EN/UG/ug-134.html
If the pattern has not improved, you can try a Deep Cleaning. Then, you can print another nozzle check to see if there is improvement. If there is little or no improvement, we recommend that you wait at least 6 hours but no more than 24 hours and do another Deep Cleaning.
It is best to wait at least 6 hours before the next deep cleaning because that gives the ink time to soak through the clogged nozzle and loosen it (like Drano). Please make sure you don’t wait longer than 24 hours before the next Deep Clean because you may be giving the clog time to dry up and harden again.
You can do up to three Deep Cleanings (6-24 hours apart). If the Nozzle Check is not perfect after the third Deep Clean, please try reseating the print head (taking it out and putting it back in). Please pay attention to how the print head slides out. That will make it easier to put back in. For those instructions, please visit the following web article:
https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/s/article/ART180517
Please note that the video in the article is not working, but you can scroll further down to see the illustrated instructions.
After you reseat the print head, please try printing another nozzle check. If the problem is not fixed and you’ve had the printer less than 3 years, I recommend that you create a Canon Account and register the printer. Once you do that, you should be able to call 1-800-652-2666 for technical support. You can create a My Canon Account and register your printer on the following website:
https://myprofile.americas.canon.com/us/signin
If you have had the printer longer than three years, please post a response to this message and include a photo of you most recent nozzle check pattern. It will also help if you include a photo of a sample print that shows the problems you are seeing.
I hope this information helps. Thanks for choosing Canon.
