Printing problem (weird colors) Pixma MX350

Hi all,

So, I have a PIXMA MX350, and the printer cartidges are about 2-3 years old, and I only print the odd piece of paper once in awhile as required for certain things like school or work.

So the way I fix this is by holding the cartidges lens on a plate with a thin film of water then I wipe it and put the cartridge back and it works normally again, and the problem is that if I leave my printer alone for too long, it doesnt print right when I use it out of the blue.

Is there a way to prevent this problem from happening by doing something different than what I am already doing?. To me, it sounds like the heads get dirty from not using the printer for long periods of time.

Thanks in advance.

Hello.

If any inkjet printer is not used for an extended period of time, you may run into printing issues due to clogged or dried nozzles.  Doing a simple printout from time to time may be beneficial.

Please note, we do not recommend that you clean or submerse any of the parts in liquids as this may cause damage to the printer or other safety issues.
