Printer problem can't solve

Printing a picture gives a ghost look. Printing a document misses half the printed line and/or skips printed lines. I checked my inks and they are ok. I turned off printer and computer and turned again to try again and same thing happened. I ran a test page and printed lines were again unprinted half horizontally and/or missed lines,

What is going on please?

Based on your description of the issue, it would appear that the encoder/timing strip may be dirty.  Cleaning this will resolve the printing issues that you are experiencing.  To clean this, please follow the steps outlined in the following Knowledgebase Article from Canon's web site:
