Hi QIUYUE,

The 1660 error means the cartridge is not installed or it is not being detected as installed. I recommend taking the ink out of the printer then putting it back it in making sure it clicks into place and the little red indicator light comes on.

If the error does not clear after putting the ink back in, please reply with the information your see on the cartridge( ink number, where it was made, etc).

We look forward to your reply.

My computer is TR8520 and the black print cartridge is PGI-120XL.  The machine keeps telling me I made Error 1660.  What should I do?

Jennifer

Hi AldersonJ79,

The PIXMA TR8520 uses the PGI-280, PGI-280XL or PGI-280XXL ink tanks.

The PGI-120XL ink tank is not compatible with the PIXMA TR8520.
