Printer (TR8500) Falsely Reports Paper Tray is Empty

My printer suddenly is stating  Paper Tray is Empty despite being loaded properly and paper is registered. Tried unplugging for an hour and re-powering printer. Please assist. This issue just started yesterday.

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which Canon printer model you're using within the PIXMA TR8500 series.  You'll find the model number on the front of the unit at the lower right corner of the operation panel.
