My BLACK ink is half full. When I print and the font is grey the print is faded and squiggly. Again the ink is half full.. do I need to fill the ink, doesn't seem like I would need to. I have cleaned the heads, checked alignment, deep cleaned.. out of ideas.
Please HELP

Hi kievit,
Blurry printing can be caused when the encoder/timing strip inside your PIXMA G4200 is smudged. Cleaning this will resolve the issue.
To clean the encoder/timing strip, please follow the steps in this Knowledgebase Article:

found on another forum if you switch the paper in the computer settings to matte photo paper it seems to work...

Why does switching the computer settings to "matte photo paper" fix this problem? Cleaning etc does nothing...
