Possible to override ink settings on a TS6020? Using a gray ink cartridge in the black ink slot.

I bought a gray cartridge by mistake and can't return it. It is a genuine Canon, same number (271) that I use for the other cartridges and fits fine in my TS6020. However the printer will not recognize it as an acceptable cartridge. I don't care about the ink color for 70% of my printing. Is there some way to override (e.g. in settings) so that it will take my gray cartridge in the black slot.  Hate to waste the $20 I spent on it.

Greetings,

This is not possible.  Only the correct inks can be used in their intended slot.  They are not swappable and cannot be used interchangeably.
