I just set up my PIXMA TR4520 and I'm disappointed with the scan quality. A white page scans as grey, and I haven't found any way of adjusting the brightness. Any suggestions?

I am on a MAC, OS 10.15.4 and the printer is connected wirelessly. There are no error messages--just unacceptable quality scanning.
I look forward to information that would help me resolve this problem. Otherwise I will return it.

Hi xsnerg.
Check the TR4520's scanning bed and ensure the packaging has been removed; many of our scanners and multifunction printers ship with a clear, protective plastic film on the scanning area that needs to be removed before scanning or copying.
Once you've confirmed the packaging has been removed, try scanning using the ScanGear interface; this requires the IJ Scan Utility to have been installed from the disc (or from the IJ Setup Website).
Alternatively, you may try scanning using Apple's Image Capture software; refer to Apple's support for directions on using Image Capture.
