Pixma iP7220 will not turn on

bmw1racer

I have had my Pixma iP7220 for six years now and when I tried to print a photo yesterday, the printer would not turn on.

I have tried the standard "unplug the printer from the wall and wait for so many minutes/hours, then replug" with no success. I have also checked the power cable with a meter and it is fine.

Any suggestions to fix this problem? Or can someone tell me where I can get a service manual for this printer?

Thanks in advance.

Hi bmw1racer,

Because you have tried multiple outlets and your PIXMA iP7220 still will not power on, your PIXMA iP7220 would require service.

You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

To help you get up and running quickly, we also offer free standard shipping (if the order is completed by 12:30PM ET). If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 seven days a week, 8am to Midnight. Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.

Thanks for your reply, but it was sort of late: After several weeks, I couldn't wait any longer, so I purchased a new printer, a Canon Pixma iX6820, which fortunately uses the same inkjet cartridges as the iP7220.

Not sure what the discounted price would have been for a replacement, but I'm sorry that I missed the opportunity to find out.

Hi bmw1racer,

Canon does not have a service manual for the IP7220. If the printer is out of the factory 1 year warranty, you would qualify for the Canon Upgrade Program.
