PIXMA TS3522 - False "Out-Of-Ink" condition

My Canon  TS3522  is showing a False "Out-Of-Ink" message and will not print after replacing the black ink 275xl cartridge x2. I have printed 17 pages and it states black ink is empty. I had the same issue with the previous cartridge and only got 27 pages of black and white simple printed text. I am purchasing Pixma authentic cartridges. This appears to be a common problem in the discussion boards yet not response on how to resolve the issue. Please advise!
