Pixma MX472 Offline

My printer Pixma MX472 shows on my print screen as beening off line . How do I get itback on line?

My Operating system is Windows 8,  have not received any error messages just the offline on the print sreen.

I can scan with it using the  cannon quick menu.

I have the same problem- the printer is always "offline" or can't be located. I have a new macbook air, ipad, sony viao, none of these computers are ever able to find this printer, it is maddening and it doesn't work. Worst printer ever.
