Pixma MP610 won't copy or print documents, but photos okay

I realize this is an older printer, but it was working fine until a few days ago. When I try to copy or print documents, it comes out with wide blank stripes missing. It is not streaky, very delineated. I tried to print the documents in both black/white and color, same problem.

A test page printed out fine. Also when I print .jpg files it also comes out fine. Any ideas??

Hi Shirleyc,

If .jpg files are printing correctly but black and white copies/documents are not, then there may be a issue with the PGI Black. The PGI cartridge is for document print and black and white copying.

I recommend performing a nozzle cleaning. Please click HERE for the steps. Once the nozzle cleaning is done, you can print a nozzle check. The nozzle check should look like the picture below:
