Pixma MP495 MP Navigator Ex problems

I'm trying to scan frpm my PC. I've installed what I think is the correct driver from here - https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/fax__multifunctionals/inkjet/pixma_mp_ser...

When I try to open it up i get an error message saying it cannot start and listing a bunch of other Canon models none of which are the MP495.

Any help would be welcome - i would caveat that with the fact it needs to be very basic instruction please !!

While the printer you're using is not supported by Canon USA, we can say that a lot of Canon printer-related software is designed for use in multiple regions, each of which may have a similar Canon printer with a slightly different model number.  Your printer may be represented in the software as the PIXMA MP490, and the last digit of the model number will be different on each continent.  That should work for your printer in this situation.
