Pixma MG6800 firware update on server

I have had a comical amount of trouble with this printer, though my prior Pixma was excellent and worked for two years with no problem. Aside from rarely printing, it alerted me that there is a firmware update available "on the server," which can be updated through "settings." I assure you it cannot. I would be happy to list every option under "settings," which I have explored for almost an hour (it is not, shockingly, under "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," "Instagram," or "Photos in Tweets," among the many choices I had to scroll through veeeeeeeeery slowly). I've searched the Canon site, instruction manual, and forum, and none of the menu options listed are available on my tiny, barely-responsive touch screen.

Hello there!

It makes us sad to hear that you've had such a frustrating experience with your printer. We do have a handful of models in the PIXMA MG6800 family, so for the Canon Community to be able to assist you properly, we'll need to know exactly which printer you're dealing with. Your model information will be physically marked on the printer - usually on the front of the machine on the lower left or right side.

You might find it faster and easier to speak with our US-based support team one-on-one. They'll be able to guide you through the firmware update process right over the phone! Support with Canon USA is always 100% free, and is right here in the USA! Our team is at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) from 10am to 10pm Eastern Time during the week (excluding holidays).
