Pixma MG2525 INK doesn't last long

Lwright48

Hello you can reach me at [Removed per Community Guidelines]

I am using the Pixma MG2525 and recently in the last 2 months I am going through Black ink like a waterfall.  I will install a cartridge on Monday and it's empty by Saturday.  This month November alone I've gone through 3 black ink cartridges.  I purchase & use  the OEM inks PG-243 and 245-6.  I am not using the XL.  Would anyone know why the ink cartridges don't last past a week?  I'm really not printing any more than I did last year and earlier this year.  Could it be something wrong with the printer?

Hi Lwright48,

The amount of pages that you can print with each ink cartridge will vary, depending on settings and what is being printed.

In addition, not all ink is used during printing and the color ink can be used when printing black and white:

You may use less ink when printing if you print in Draft mode.  To set this, please follow the steps on this page:

MG2500 series > Printing > Printing from a Computer > Printer Driver > Printing with Easy Setup

Okay I'll try the draft feature.   It seems the ink just doesn't last long.  I'm buying ink almost every week.
