Pixma MG2520 error message when trying to scan

xloriricex

Every time I try to scan a picture with my Pixma MG2520 it gives me the error message "You do not have the required privileges to access the specified folder. Code:9,244,3"

It was working fine when I first bought it 10 days ago and I scanned about 700 pictures. Now this error code keeps coming up every time that I click on "Photo Scan". I am using Windows 8.1 on an Asus laptop. When this code came up last time I just took the printer cartridges out and put them back in and it worked fine, but this time that did not work. I do not use my printer for printing, I only use it for scanning.

What can I do??

Hi xloriricex, Please try scanning and then saving your images to a different folder. Does the error persist?

This happens to me ALL the time when I try to scan.  No one seems to have a solution that works.  How can I not have authority to scan?  I'm logged in as Administrator!  I can modify and delete anything on the system under this sign-on, and I cant SCAN?  Usually I can get it to work after futzing around with the Canon utilities for a half an hour, but usually I don't have a half an hour to waste.  This is enough for me to NEVER  buy another Canon product.

Hello.

The message would only occur if the currently selected folder does not allow access to the program.

Open the Settings menu in the IJ Scan Utility.  Once there, change the location to a new folder or your Desktop to see if the program is allowed to save to the new location.
