Did you mean:

Pixma G6020 service mode and ink absorbers

BajaBarry

I think I need to run an ink flush to fix my printing problem and I'd like to know how full the ink absorbers are before doing that. I found some instructions to put similar models into service mode but none seem to work on my G6020. Maybe how to find a service manual? I'd also like to know how to access the ink absorbers. Any help is appreciated.

Hi BajaBarry,

The service manuals contain proprietary information and are not available.

What is the printing issue that you are experiencing with your PIXMA G6020?

Yellow & cyan not printing and do not appear in the feed tubes but plenty in the tanks.

Hi BajaBarry,

Please perform 2 printhead cleanings:

https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/G6000%20series/EN/UG/ug-135.html

If yellow and cyan still do not print, please perform an ink flush:

https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/G6000%20series/EN/NTR/ntr_h_01.html

If the issue persists, your PIXMA G6020 would require service.  If your PIXMA G6020 was purchased less than a year ago, please contact one of Canon's Technical Support Representatives via phone or chat to obtain your in warranty options. To contact a Technical Support Representative, please use the link below:

If your PIXMA G6020 is out of warranty, you are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Monday through Saturday, 9am to 9pm. Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.

I once had an oven that required a service call when the interior light bulb burned out. I have been using Canon printers for a very long time. I am very disappointed that the design of this printer, which I otherwise like, does not have a user-accessible way to view the ink absorber status and, more importantly, a way for the user to replace the them when full.

Patrick your printers are a scam, why is the printer not user fixable?

Dont answer that I know the answer...Its cause its a scam
